HELEN IRENE STREETER, 94, a lifetime Lapeer resident, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018.

Helen was born in February 1, 1924, to Darius and Mabel (Eastman) Graves. She married Charles Alvin Streeter on May 24, 1946 in Flint. Helen worked at AC Spark Plug during and after WWII. She personified “Rosie the Riveter,” working to produce bomber sights during the war. Helen worked a few years at Lapeer General Hospital, but was always and foremost a loving homemaker. Charlie and Helen loved to square dance and travel. Helen was a longtime member of the Oregon United Methodist Church.

Helen is survived by her children, Wayne (Gail) Streeter of Lapeer and Margo (Timothy) Cook of Bangor, MI; daughter-in-law, Mary Streeter of Lapeer; four grandchildren, Joshua Streeter, Rebecca (Marc) Amaya, Alison (Tim) Thompson and Emily (Paul) Mutschler; four great-grandchildren, Ezra, Joaquin, Gloria and Gwendolyn; sister, Myrtle Pullano of Phoenix, AZ.

Mrs. Streeter was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Streeter in 1994; her son, Daniel Streeter in 2013; eight siblings; and her parents.

Helen’s funeral service was held Monday, July 2, 2018 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home. Pastor Drew Jolly officiated. Burial was in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery.
