Auditions scheduled for Summer Youth Theatre production at The PIX Theatre on May 30-31

LAPEER — The Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer is proud to announce audition dates for their second annual youth theatre production. The show is titled “Mother Goose is Eaten by Werewolves and will be directed by Carolyn Dougherty. Theatermania” calls the show “a delectable spoof for all ages” — fairy tales and nursery rhymes mix together when the Big Bad Wolf helps the Prince locate Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Also involved are a witch, several kings, a queen, and of course a fairy godmother.

Young actors ages 18 and under are invited to audition for roles in the production. No theatre or acting experience is required. Auditions will be held at the PIX Theatre on May 30 from 6-7:30 p.m., and also on May 31 from 4-5:30 pm. Advance registration is not required and auditions are walk-in on a first come, first served basis. The audition process will include reading from a script that will be provided by the theatre.

Rehearsals for the show will run June 18–22 and June 25– 29, Monday through Friday, and also July 10-12, with all times to be announced.

Performances will be July 13-14, with the show beginning at 7:30 p.m. on both days. This show is part of the youth theatre program at the Center for the Arts, which offers many classes for students of all ages throughout the year. After the success of last year’s production, Peter Pan, students and parents alike requested another show be produced this year. For more information, call the Center for the Arts at 810-664-4824.
