Jackpot nears $80,000

LAPEER — The Lapeer Elks have been holding the Ace of Hearts game every week for months now at Louie’s Sports Tavern in Lapeer, but they have still not found a winner to take home the growing jackpot. And now there are only eight weeks left in the game for a jackpot winner to be found.

Monday nights have quickly become a crowded affair at Louie’s, located on Davison Road with the Polar Palace. At 8:30 p.m. every Monday the Elks draw one ticket out of a bowl and that ticket holder has the chance to pick from one of the remaining playing cards in the deck. Whoever finds the Ace of Hearts card immediately wins the jackpot, which could very well be at or above $80,000 on Monday (Feb. 20).

The final week of the game will conclude on Monday, April 9. If a jackpot winner has not been found by that night, the Elks will continue to draw tickets until someone wins.

Tickets cost $1 a piece and are available at Louie’s and the Lapeer Elks Lodge on East Nepessing St. The winning jackpot on Monday (Feb. 13) would have been $72,000. Cash prizes are also available for finding other special cards. There are only eight more weeks left in the Elks’ game, whether a winner is found or not.
