The entire district is facing wide-spread changes next school year, including the closure of Seaton and Maple Grove Elementary schools and the conversion of Turrill Elementary School into a yearround school.

LAPEER — When one thinks of rubber ducks, the image of a bathtub generally comes to mind. But in Lapeer, the best place to look for the little yellow ducks is at Marguerite deAngeli Library where the children’s library section has a growing collection of more than 100 rubber ducks.

LAPEER — The children’s room of the Marguerite deAngeli Branch Library will host a book discussion of A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle tonight (May 17) from 4-5 p.m. The book discussion is for both children and their parents.

LAPEER — Step ‘N Stars Christian Dance studio in downtown Lapeer has been having a great year. The girl dancers from the studio have competed in a number of competitions, both in and out of state, and have won an impressive number of trophies. For nine of the dancers, however, the best is yet to come.

NORTH BRANCH — Fun and educational classes will be offered June 18-21 and June 25-28 at the North Branch Elementary School for any students entering grades 2-12. The classes will offer a little bit of something for everyone, and are designed to keep students interested and learning after school lets out for the summer.
